About Flic en Flac Beach

Flic en Flac derives its name from the Dutch phrase 'Fried Landt Flaak' and its literal meaning is 'Free and Flat Land'.On the western coast of Mauritius lies the stunning beach of Flic en Flac of the Black River region. It is a 12 km stretch of fine white sandy beach with a backdrop of Filao trees. It is located south of Port Louis which is a village that boasts of a good night life like restaurants, bars night-clubs and casinos. This is one of the most beautiful beaches of Mauritius which frequently attracts lots of tourists. It is also one of the more commercial of the Mauritian beaches. There are many places that offer accommodation and its services vary according to the budget of the traveler.

The beach is characterized by long stretches of powder white sand and shallow coral reef filled waters with an amazing tone of blue. You can go fishing, boating , snorkeling in the waters to explore its marine diversity or just sit by the shores with your friends and a bottle of your favorite wine to give you company while you wait to watch the setting Sun.
