Belle Mare Beach is in close proximity to the town of Mahebourg which happens to be one of the larger towns in Mauritius. Belle Mare Beach is located on the southeast side of the main island and is very easily accessible As a result of this, Belle Mare Beach can get a little crowded on weekends. But during the week, you may have this beauty of a beach almost all to your self.

The locals do sometimes complain about the advent of industrialization due to mushrooming of industries around the beach and the kind of crowds that the beach has begun to generate. But all that will be forgotten the moment you set foot on the sands of the Belle Mare Beach. It is truly one of the most beautiful beaches you can lay your eyes on.

Apart from that, Belle Mare has perhaps the best golf course on the island. There are two courses- one 18 hole, specially made for the guests of the Belle Mare Plage Hotel and another 9 hole with some respectable greens that is going to get you marching with your golfing clubs.
